The 2nd team have some interesting assets.

I voted for the Eichel side, but more context was definitely needed in the original post. I have been Team B in this situation before (except, I was winning championships) - in salary cap leagues where your contracts outgrow your overall team salary, and tough decisions have to be made. If the team trading Eichel was way over the salary cap and HAD to make moves, honestly, getting three ELC contracts with upside (one, Hayton, who should play next season) and a 19 spot draft pick upgrade is not a bad tradel. Tolvanen and Wahlstrom have not lived up to their billings yet, so I would want at least one of those two to be upgraded to a better prospect.

Now, looking at his roster, it sucks, and to trade Eichel makes absolutely no sense. He could probably drop half of that roster before having to trade away his only good player. Yikes!

God damn that's a bad team. Even worse with the Eichel return. I hope you are the other team!

I'm not either team. I am the commissioner of the league. That team finished 25th out of 31. The team trying to acquire Eichel finished 31st!

In a super deep league, especially with lots of teams, you can win deals by getting a large quantity of useful players to replace dreck. The team dealing Eichel has a lot of dreck.

    Seems reasonable, honestly.

It’s a very bad trade for the team letting go of Eichel. 3 B or C prospects, Tolvanen the only guy getting NHL time. And no top 10 pick in return? Seeing both teams it’s not a question of Cap. The team losing Eichel is banking on catching lightning 3 of 3 times, and all for letting go a Bolt of lightning in hand. That bolt was once compared to McDavid and continues to
Be compared to Matthews... 2 of the top 10 players perhaps in the world.

How did those two teams get so bad?? I understand it is a 31 team league, but these two teams should be picking 1st and 2nd in every draft..?? These two teams could swap entire rosters and I think we would be fine with it!!

The GM getting Eichel is trying to acquire a bonified star.. The GM trading Eichel is trying to build up his roster..

The team acquiring Eichel is doing a great job rebuilding IMO. Could be one of the good team sooner than later.

Eichel, Konecny, Necas, Meier, Tippett, Kotkaniemi, Caufield, R.Suzuki, ...
    Rielly, Sergachev, Byram, Seider
I'd be really happy to have that roster in such a large league.

And he's smart using his younger assets to acquire better young assets.
