Gretzky is the 1st for sure

The 2nd is probably a tough one since it wouldn't be a good question if it was Lemieux or Jagr lol. I'll try Teemu Selanne?

Wow, Bossy wasn't even on the list. I wouldn't have guessed that one.

Hmm. No idea, trying to remember times I looked at the scoreboard and saw guys getting 3 a lot.

Eric Staal and Patrick Kane are my guesses

Here's another one I heard a few years ago.

How many OT winners did Wayne Gretzky have during the regular season?

Staal is correct for the third guy.

As for Gretzky, he has one regular season OT goal. I think it was the same night he passed Gordie Howe for most points by a player.

Makes sense. the NHL only introduced overtime in 1983. It was 5 on 5 and 2 points for W and 0 for a L.

No player was brave enough to risk costing his team a point, I remember regular season OT being brutally boring growing up.

*Fun fact I learned when looking this up on wikipedia: a 10 minute overtime period was eliminated from the NHL rules in 1942 due to "War Time Restricitions"
Not sure if that was to use less energy or ensure the games ended by a certain time but either way crazy to think it impacted the league until 1983.

I looked into it and people who did some legwork claim Gretzky played in 33 OT games where his team won in the regular season. So it's weird he only got 1 in those 33.

As to the wartime restrictions...that's interesting. I would lean towards energy preservation but Im not sure. curfew would also be because of energy conservation too (in NA at least), so it goes hand in hand.

I think they are answering the empty net goal question.
