This trade was made in our pool and it’s caused a bit of controversy.

Doesn't look overly lopsided but it all depends on how some of the players involve perform. I do like the PKane side today but in a couple years I can see the other side catching up. Pretty good trade for both teams I guess. Tavares and Klingberg have to bounce back a bit but not out of the question for either player to do that.

If I have a loaded team and I want a short term upgrade I prefer the Kane side but if I'm looking for a little more depth I prefer the Tavares side. That seems a pretty fair deal to me.

i like the Tavares side mainly due to age...P Kane probably has few good years left but i dont think Burns does...

I like the Tavares side of the deal.
Then depending on how they draft, it could really cement the win.
Kane will out perform Tavares. But him Burns, and Nurse won't out perform Tavares, Klingberg and Marchesault past the 2020-21 season.

I'd take the Tavares side even without the picks.

Another vote for the Tavares side. In your format, in two years Kane might be the only player still usable in your league.

If I want to win soon, I want the Kane side. If I want more long-term assets, I want the Tavares side.

If this is what people are saying is a controversial trade, your league has a problem with trades. And since it's a 6 team league, you only need 2 complaining owners for you league to have a problem with trades, maybe only 1 if they are really loud.

I would rather the Tavares side, but it looks like a fair deal.

The Tavares side wins for me. Especially if in a keeping league and with the picks.

Pretty fair deal. I'd call it a slight win for the Tavares side, but certainly not lopsided enough to "cause a stir", haha.

I see no controversy myself, I like both sides. Tavares side a little more, but that's more my personal penchant for picks than anything against the Kane side. I think both GMs should walk away happy.

    My thoughts are as follows.

I can argue and so can many of you that....
    Kane-Burns $18.5m/older
    Tavares-klingberg $15.2m/younger

    Is a pretty fair swap.
Side A- more expensive, more points, shorter term.
Side B- cheaper, less points, longer term.

And if you look at the underlying numbers on any of the popular star sites, you’ll see that klingberg and Tavares win on almost every metric related to scoring.

I don’t believe that in our pool, with our setup, that the 88’s are so much more valuable than JT&JK, to warrant a booster of Marchesualt and two pretty solid draft picks in return for D Nurse.

Btw I am one of the people who does not love this deal.
