    Default Baseball in May?

This seems optimistic but it sounds like there is a plan in place for baseball to resume spring training in May.

all teams would reside and play in Arizona and use the spring training facilities.

players would be only allowed to go for hotel to stadium and back. And would not be able to physically see families.

It sounds good in theory, and boy would I watch!

The "airlock" around the entire operation is going to have to be air tight however. Players, Managers, Trainers, Umpires will need to be totally isolated from everyone.
Further, all the essential staff at the parks, grounds crew, camera operators, production crew, broadcasters have to be accounted for as well. I hope they can somehow make it work.

If MLB attempts this you know all the other leagues are going to be watching everything that works and doesn't. Especially the NFL.
I'm leaning towards expecting the NFL to buy a massive expired military base somewhere in the mid-west USA and put their whole operation in quarantine for the start of the Season
12 team H-2-H 1 year league, daily roster changes, 3 goalie start minimum/week

My guess is that the TV production would not be as high quality as we are accustomed too. Likely less cameras.

If they are strategic they will have it so that there are 3 games in the same park in the same day... reduces the numbers of these additional people they would need at each location.

Some of those parks are smaller than MLB parks... wonder if they'd bother pushing the fences out at all?

I am guessing they will only use the ones that are regulation size. They don't need all the parks if they can have multiple games in the same ballpark on the same day.

And they will also have access to the Dbacks stadium as well.

They have 11 stadiums... so they might not need them all.

I for one, hope they leave the fences as they are.
I know it would be an abbreviated season... but just for fun

'what if' - they did fit 162gp in... and the homerun record was broken. In the desert heat and smaller parks... still a long shot... but a better than normal chance.

Would it get a ** in the record book?

It's crazy to think about because society is still trying to figure out how to get through this. My initial thought is hell no because we're probably still getting cases by that point even if the "curve" is in decline. If we can somehow pull it off without making things worse then maybe this can be part of rebooting society on the other side.

Can't see starting in May, too soon. June at earliest, they just need 1 positive test and would shut down for months.

this would be great but if one of these leagues comes back too early and despite all the efforts and isolation someone gets sick, you can kiss all sports good bye for a year or more...i honestly think all leagues need to wait much longer than may but we will see...

    Agreed.
The States are in too big of a rush to get back to status-quo.
    They just can't.
We're seeing now other states positive tests growing at exponential rates.
Just because NY, NJ seem to be leveling off doesn't mean other states aren't lagging behind with their own outbreaks
IE: Georgia, Florida, Louisiana right now.. In 2wks from now it could be Arizona & New Mexico.
    No one knows

Major League Baseball threw cold water on reports it is developing plans to restart play as early as May in an isolation bubble protected from the novel coronavirus outbreak, saying on Tuesday several options were being considered.

Makes sense. Every league should be coming up with plans for starting in May - June- July - August all the way to what happens if they just cancel things.
