I thought it was kind of boring. Seemed like most of the picks were predicted in order, almost like they had advance knowledge before airing the picks themselves...

That said, can't wait to see if we'll have an NFL season this year. Maybe they can share Fight Island with the UFC, you know, the one that should have high enough temperatures and humidity to cut the half life of the virus (I watched the President's briefing today, lol!)

All in all, it went well. I agree, it was a bit boring and the "stories" about the players after each pick seemed to take longer than needed and caused Goddell to have to hold off announcing the next pick.

As far as being scripted, from what I could see, the players were sent a big ole box of team caps and had to grab the team cap from the box. The only known picks that I would say were guaranteed was the 1st overall. I am sure Cincy let Burrow know he was their guy a while back when they told other teams they had no intentions of trading the pick.

I was happy with the 49ers first round. I was hoping they'd have grabbed one of the high end WRs sitting there for them at 13 but they have taken a DL in the 1st round for years now so with Kinlaw still there, i wasn't surprised by them grabbing him. It allows them to slide him in there to replace Buckner and save some cap. I was really hoping for Jefferson to slide to them as I knew they were going to focus on a WR next, but that wasn't to be. I dont know much about Aiyuk but this is a deep receiver draft and he was seen as one of the top 5-7 WRs and was going in the 1st round in most mocks I read leading up to the draft. Shanahan will work his magic with him hopefully.

I read that Cincy told Burrows through a letter on Wednesday he was going to go 1st overall.

Honestly, seemed like teams had "their guy" and when guys dropped, not many were pivoting to pick that guy. Jeudy dropped, Wills and Wirfs dropped. Oakland reached on Arnette by a few picks. So it seemed like not many were prepared to trade down, but seemed like teams were prepared to move up to get "their guy".

All in all, went better than I thought, however I'm sure we'll hear a deal fell through due to technical difficulties in like 5yrs.

BTW, wtf is happening at Vrabels house?

I read that Jerry Jones was jumping out of his chair to draft CeeDee Lamb. He didn't expect him to slide to him.

Dude was smiling ear to ear. Every time the feed went to him, you could tell someone was sliding to him because he just grew happier and happier. If I'm Gallup, I'm pretty upset. If I'm Dak, I'd be like a kid getting a Wii for Christmas when you got a PS4 already. Dallas offense doesn't really need Lamb. Wonder what this really means for Gallup's future.

He was arguably the BPA when they were on the clock so it's hard to argue with the choice if thats the way you like to roll. It's better than reaching for need (in Dallas' case, help on D). It puts them in a spot to do what the Niners did with Buckner. Move out the more expensive player and replace him with a younger, cheaper version.

Ya I guess Dallas was in a unique situation where they have a few holes that aren't that generic like "offensive line".

That was a very meh draft. I'm definitely not a fan of the picks being announced on the show before the "official" announcement.

Indy tried to trade up to get Love, that's why GBP traded up to where they did to take him.

Dallas rejected 3 offers to their pick and picked Lamb

I still dont understand the GB pick. He's not going to play for a couple years unless Rodgers gets hurt. They are still in a "win it now" mode. Why not give Rodgers some help today. It's not like there isn't quarterbacks available every draft and it's not like this kid was the be-all end-all QB in the draft. Just a head scratcher for me at this point in the draft.

They were ripped for the Rodgers pick 15yrs ago. However, the team make ups were very different. Now, Patriots also drafted a QB when their starter was 36yrs old or something like that. But that was a late 2nd round pick on Jimmy G. I would personally not go with a QB with this pick, but maybe it does work out? Except Rodgers fell in his draft, and was like a "yeah, this is a good pick". Like if Tua for some reason fell, that would make WAY more sense. Now they got to answer questions on it for 4yrs.

I much rather a WR for them. but if they get one in the 2nd round, but omg. This looks bad right now. And Rodgers is under contract for 4 more yrs. Honestly, next draft or the one after is where they should have done this move. Seems like they jumped the gun on their "After Rodgers Plan"
