Default Vote for Ted Lindsay Winner

"The Ted Lindsay Award (formerly the Lester B. Pearson Award) is presented annually to the "most outstanding player" in the NHL as voted by fellow members of the National Hockey League Players' Association."

If the NHL regular season has closed its doors for 2019-20, let's take a look at what the trophy situation might look like.

Last years winner was Nikita Kucherov TB

Honorable mention to Sidney Crosby, but he missed too many games (in my opinion) to be considered.

    My nominees (listed alphabetically):

Leon Draisaitl EDM (71-43-67-110). Won Art Ross by 13 points, averaged 22:37 TOI, tops amongst NHL forwards and his 66 even-strength points were second best in the league

Nathan MacKinnon COL (69-35-58-93). Third most even-strength points, averaged ninth most TOI (21:13) amongst forwards

Connor McDavid EDM (64-34-63-97). Not so arguably the best player in the game, averaged third most TOI (21:52) amongst forwards

What a season Leon had. man.

But I give it to Mack.

We're still trying to find his one rep-max for carrying the team.

Played without significant pieces of this team for long stretches.

Leon for me. On pace for 128 points in a season.

McDavid is basically unanimously considered the best player in hockey and his career best is 116.
Leon finally became an elite CENTER this year

    2xC, 2xRW, 2xLW, 4xD, 3xUtil, 2xG, 5 Bench

Crazy how there could be two players from the same team nominated for this award. Wow.

    I voted Leon.

    Very true guys.

I voted McDavid as this has typically gone to the league's "best player" (rightly or wrongly!).

Huh...I didn't realize McDavid AND Draisaitl were nominated for this award.

Quite honestly makes it more funny to me that Draisaitl won MVP despite him and his teammate being acknowledged by the players as two of the best players in the league.

The way the NHL does the voting, there is no "nominations". The votes are tallied and the top three announced as finalists. My original post was posted before the finalists were announced, so it was just my take on who might be the three top vote getters.

    Ohhh my mistake. Haha.

Don't get me wrong, I think Draisaitl is a phenomenal player. But if anything that makes me more sour on the Hart win tbh that they both got voted top 3 for this award.
