I don't think you can go with too many stats. Hits and blocked shots weren't really tracked before the past couple decades. Even plus/minus wasn't tracked before 1967. I wouldn't want to be penalized for taking Howie Morenz or Joe Malone.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

I would like it to be a longer draft. I know this will make it harder but I think we're up to the challenge. There are many greats which some of us might not be too familiar with, but we will know their names better by the time we're done this.
this right here I agree with

Also in terms of drafting...do people want to make it purely on what players have already achieved? Because some might very well pick McDavid quite high based on projection. But if it was based on career totals he wouldn't be picked very high at all (even though his pts/g is very impressive he has a fairly short resume). I am assuming most would want there be some leeway based on projecting players careers...but I think we should agree on this beforehand.

I was asking about categories so I can decide between Glen Anderson or Cam Neely

Do I draft Sergio Momesso early or wait?

    you get my point.

btw - I’d like to participate

Yes. I totally understand your point. And The best answer I have is, who would you want on your team if you were running a team of players and got to select that player in his prime. I can’t say it’s just goals or just points or these categories or those categories. If I did then it would just become a math experiment focusing on those categories.

unless someone has a suggestion for a way of tracking it that makes sense and is fair.. I think the best we can do is who you would want on your team for whatever reason.

maybe you want to build a team full of defensive stalwarts. Or maybe you want to draft all the Alexander Semin’s of the world and hope you out score teams 10-9.

I just wanna have fun seeing where people rank the players of history and current players.

You are in for sure. And I said that we can decide as a group. So if as a group we can come up with a group of categories that makes sense then let’s do it.

and not if I draft him in the second round.

What do you think is the minimum amount we can do this with? Is 6 too few?

I was originally hoping for 10-12 cause I though there would be lots of bored people around.

I think 8 bare minimum but 10-12 would be ideal

8+. 6 seems too low IMO. Let's hold out for more people.

    3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 6D, 2G, 5 bench

    D -
    G - Jarry
