Who was the best rookie between Jack Hughes, Kappo Kakko and Kirby Dach? Who would you start a franchise around? who will have the best career overall?

    Welcome to the forums.

Kakko for me unless your league settings has FOWs. Then I'd switch it to Hughes.

Hughes. I think that in time, he'll be a power play wizard.

I think I have to go with Kakko... I think he is just going to be surrounded by more talent and therefore produce better!

Ville Heinola. But Kakko or Hughes past 19/20, real even between the two for me.

Between those 3, it's Dach for me. On Sports-Reference, Dach shows up as a 19year old, which gets you this list for 18 & 19 year olds:

    23 points: Dach/Kakko
    21 points: Hughes/Farabee

    Defensemen, Heinola was 18:
    Boqvist
    Heinola
    Sandin

I think the best rookie in that list is either Boqvist or Farabee, due to quality production in fewer games, and a bit more defensive responsibility to boot. However, they aren't the same draft year. If I have to pick from one from the most recent draft, I'd also think Heinola was the best player, but they kept him to 8 games, when he was clearly ready.

Who will have the best career is tough to guess, but I'd probably say it's somebody who will be in the running for a future Calder, which includes Heinola, but none you listed. I tend to take the field over a couple options.
