Awesome tips thanks 2014.
Figured might as well start a thread on tips for dealing with the world while COVID-19 happens:
- Big one I've found....Food delivery boxes. I've used GoodFood on and off to fill meals if I know I'm going to be busy that week. They're great, services are still running, and the food is fresh still.
- Rumours of LCBO shutting down, I give you...LCBO has home delivery. Curious if this will shutdown if the LCBO shuts down, but they'd be leaving a lot of money on the table, but so are a lot of places
- The next option would be small breweries. I know a bunch craft breweries in Hamilton have delivery options already and they're pushing for that.
- How to make hand sanitizer....
3 parts rubbing alcohol
1 part aloe vera gel
1 drop of essential oil for smell
Leaves your hands kinda sticky because of the aloe vera gel. Another option is:
1-2/3 cups alcohol
2 teaspoons of glycerol (online) - Used to not dry out your hands, so it's optional
Then mix 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, and 1/4 cup of distilled water, then mix it together.
You can use the second one in a spray bottle to disinfect surfaces. Put it in a cup and put papertowl in it to create lysol wipes.

We bought a puzzle of a tropical destination and decided we were going on ‘vacation’ to that tropical destination.
The last few evenings it has been our getaway and has been really relaxing.
Some random ideas
-Meditation: At the very least you'll calm down for a few minutes
-Workouts: I do power yoga which uses no equipment. Thousands of workouts available on Youtube for free.
-Cooking: Take time to prepare healthy meals. Again, thousands of recipes and tutorials available online for free.
-Communication: Try reaching out to family and friends you have not spoken to in a while. At least to check in on them and make sure they're OK.
-Documentaries: I try to limit my reading/watching of fiction so right now is a good time to invest in documentaries, especially if there's a long series you've been putting off. I have found some good content creators who make quality stuff out of their basement, again available on Youtube for free.
Key point: The power grid and internet are one of the few "things" we have left so use that to your advantage!

stay healthy by eating well, getting plenty of sleep, exercising regularly and having good social contact with loved ones by phone or video chat.
Beer
Without me, it's only "aweso".
You can still go outside. In a large city it gets harder, but small town/small city - go find a trail.
I have a really popular one by my house that I will avoid as I suspect everyone will be going there. But there are lesser known, more difficult ones where I am the only person physically on it. That's how it was on Monday when I went - 3 hours never saw a soul until we joined a more common loop for a km.
alltrails is a great app that will list every bloody trail good or bad around you.
It's spring. Get out and get yard work done. Getting fresh air will really help keep your mind fresh - then you can go inside and do Eric's list. Or... take your laptop onto the deck and do the Yoga outside.

Yesterday I went for 2 walks (just over 1km each), chipped some ice and moved some snow around (small yard). I encountered three people in total while walking and this was in a residential neighborhood. Had a quick chat with two of them.

My coping activities:
1) Running/working out: While I have been either running or riding a stationary bike for 180 minutes per week since New Years, I have decided to see how many miles I can run during this quarantine. Did 6.2 miles (10K) a couple days ago and plan on going out later today. If we are out long enough, I'll build up to a marathon. I've done a couple half marathons but never wanted to spend all the time needed to run the full marathon.
2) Bike riding: Going to be doing some long rides on my road bike. Always wanted to do a century ride.
3) Going for walks: Did a 6 mile walk yesterday through the woods. Listened to some great podcasts. That was nice.
4) Read: Hit up the library last week and loaded up on some fiction. Maybe even reread some classics that I have.
5) Clean/Organize the house.
6) Organize work material and do long range planning.
7) Fish some local ponds.
