    Maybe, maybe not.

The Canadian power plant at Niagara Falls delivers 80% of all power to the Eastern Seaboard of the USA.

Isn't one of the "ingredients" of the masks 3M make only made in Canada?

Seems...very "hot air" of Trump to "call out" 3M when Canada could just cut the supply to 3M. Think it's Trump trying to say he figured the country would be getting more masks and the lack of masks isn't on him, it's on a company that's always supplied other countries with masks for not solely supplying America.

It's a comment to just point a finger somewhere else.

Another reason why public statements are so overrated.

Likely why 3M's statement called Trumps demands foolhardy and said it would be more detrimental than beneficial.

Ontario's revised essential services list is a step in the right direction. They cut it from 70ish to 40ish now. Marijuana is out.

The one that baffles me, and in my opinion poses the biggest risk to the public, is the residential construction. I don't understand the logic in allowing them to continue. People who buy prebuilds already have places to stay in today, and they will continue to do so for the forseeable future. Most of these projects take 3-4 years to complete. If there were a condo that was coming online in the next few months then I could understand how that's essential since families are already planning to transition, but those that are still holes in the ground (the vast majority of them) or just beams and pillars right now should all be shut down.

I'm sure politics and some degree of corruption behind it as usual... the developers have long relationships with the Ford family and those in government. They've probably got many of them in their pockets.

One province that has been on point - at least from what I have been able to tell - is Nova Scotia.
They had quarantined testing stations set up across the province more than a week before they had a positive test.
They've been on it. Preparing well in advance.

Honestly though, I have to say the response I've seen across this country from our leaders has been exceptional. Not perfect of course, but petty politics is being set aside and they're working toward common goals for the betterment of our country. In one sense I hope this pandemic lasts long enough for these political niceties to form long lasting habits rather than default back to mud slinging

LOL that's a pipe dream. Make no mistake, all the political parties are acting in their own best interests.

Ya I agree. The Conservatives are doing their best NOT to look like the arseholes during this tough times. Once this has settled, the claws will come back out. The biggest thing they need to worry about is how much ground approval Trudeau is making up for his handling of this situation. So far, hes winning over a lot of folks who may have doubted his leadership ability. Pro-conservatives will always find fault in anything Trudeau does so he isnt winning them over, but those on the fence or even those who "voted against Trudeau compared to voting for someone else" might see him in a different light once this is behind us.

People are unrealistic about how fast a vaccine will come. The trials take years.

HIV has been around for 40 years and claimed 35 million lives. Still no vaccine today...
