    Default E. Lindholm Conundrum

Heading into the semis next week (I should make it), Calgary only plays 2 games. I have Lindholm, and one of the days he plays (Sat), I probably would bench him anyways as I’ll have 2 extra forwards. Would you drop him for a far lesser player, but one I could get 4 games from? Someone along the lines of Robert Thomas from the Blues or Colin White from the Sens.

Main risk is that Calgary plays 4 games in finals week and if I did make it there, I could be gifting him to my opponent since it’s a FAAB system and there are no guarantees I get him back.

Am I overthinking it and should just focus on things one week at a time, and worry about finals if/when that time comes?

How much of your FAAB do you have left and how much do you imagine using by the end of the year?

Wondering if you could drop Lindholm, put in a massive claim for him to get him back mid-week, but in the meantime gain two man-games with the maneuver?

    I have $28 left

Only problem with what you’re suggesting (I should have mentioned in my post) is that we only get 3 moves a week. That would be my 3rd move and I’d ideally have one left for later in the week depending on needs. I’ll be putting in 2 bids tonight most likely, one to replace Merzlikins as I currently have 5 goalies, and one to replace Lindholm to gain man games

Okay, so maybe scratch that plan.
What does the matchup look like? If you were to hold Lindholm for now, do you think you could get the win anyways?

Unfortunately no - he has quite a good roster and a bunch of them play 4 games this week so he has the edge on man games too, so that’s why I want to get as many as I can. He has these guys playing 4 games each:

    Crosby
    Malkin
    Kucherov
    RNH
    Kyle Connor
    Schenn
    Ellis
    Sergachev
    Chabot
    Klefbom

And his other 3 skaters (Wilson, Pavelski, McAvoy) play 3 each. He also doesn’t have many conflicts, so not much benching

That's rough. However, if you can pull out FOW, and maybe Hits/blks, then you can make it come down to a good week by the goalies. With the Boston duo and Shesty, it's doable. I do wonder though if there's another goalie on the wire that might play more than Merzlikins?

Ya the goal is to drop Merz for a dman I can get 4 games out of to help with hits and blocks, and drop Lindholm for a forward that plays 4 games that I can get FOW from and some extra shots. For goalies Merz will be gone and I’ll just roll with the Boston duo and the rangers duo. Just hoping Henrik doesn’t steal some starts

What goalies does your opponent have?

Crawford - likely gets 2 games
    Lehner - likely gets 1-2
    Korpisalo - likely gets 1

Im in the similar position, Carlito. My playoffs are starting this week. I finnished 2nd - playing against the 7th seed. I have counted the players for the week and my opponent has 10 more skaters which sucks. I will probably drop Lindholm because I prefer advancing in the next round and not having a stud like Lindholm to being eliminated and holding Lindholm. Every single hit or sog counts! GL!

Ha very true! I dropped him for Colin White, as my options were limited, but he has 4 games and should produce more in 4 than i get from lindholm in 1!

    Those are beatable goalies.

Id probably take your shit without the drop as a 4 game lindholm far outweighs the difference a game waiver add would provide (although as i type that Im realizing Thomas isnt just any old waiver fart..). In any case I just dont think theres much you could do squeaking out two games. Id bet on your roster catching some peripherals and hopefully running away with goalie stats. Take the shot with your roster and the reward would be a 4 game lindholm week in finals...
