Maybe, or we've just hit that point where the best team's top liners are off the board so now it's #1 D. I've been plotting the Letang pick in R3 since Penguin Hunter, that big jerk, took Malkin and Guentzel from me.

Now that Taraaenko's gone I can say that I'm surprised Schwartz went before Tank. Was there a worry that the injury would negatively affect him and he would be slow getting up to speed?

This is just a guess. But since no one that had left to pick between his second and third round picks had chosen a Blue in the first round, maybe he figured Tank would slip through.

Its actually cause Schwartz is a Sasky boy... and they know how to play playoff hockey no matter what time of year it is!

Its actually cause Schwartz is a Sasky boy... and they know how to play playoff hockey no matter what time of year it is!

Tank's injury definitely went into consideration. Also the fact that Schwartz had more points last year. And correct with thinking he would slip. As well as Blues goalies

Makes sense. The injury is definitely a consideration as the Blues do look like they can go far, so at the risk of maybe a couple more points I can see the injury risk side of it swaying the pick to Schwartz for some.

I like Schwartz over Tarasenko... and not just because he is as Sasky boy.

Schwartz scored more than Tank last year in playoffs and isn't coming off an injury. If i was on the Blues train (meaning I was able to pick earlier in the draft... I would have picked Schwartz over Tarasneko as well.
