Right now I think it's Svech. Just a little more dynamic. That's a really close one though.
Who would you rather have and why?

Svechnikov by a shade.
This solves nothing LOL. the tally is 7 for Liane, 6 for Svech and one "coin flip".
I have no clue...

It's close, but I prefer Laine here.
Can't go wrong with either
Gotta go with P.Laine!!

Laine. I think that high end goal scorers, which we still believe Laine is (right?), are more difficult to find.
Svech for me. I think their talent levels or ceilings are similar but everything I've ever read about Svech is that the kid has a phenomenal work ethic and a great attitude. Laine on the other hand has been criticized for moping and lacking in focus at various points since coming into the league.
Again, their ceilings are similar and they're both very young, so who knows what will happen, but right now I'd bet on the kid with the great attitude as being the likelier of the two to achieve his full potential.

If I owned Laine, I don’t think I’d trade him for Svech. If I owned Svech, I don’t think I’d trade him for Laine. Not that this helps, but it just shows how close they actually are.
Svech for me too. Attitude will bring him farther than Lane...

With the caveat that injuries are not accounted for, I think Svech will give you consistent stats with less variations from year to year and he & his team have yet to reach their potential. He won't win you a league but he won't be the reason you lose either.
From year to year, Laine will give you stats that will leave you feeling like you played yo-yo upside down while riding in the Tower of Terror elevator for two hours. aka lots of ups & down. Also, the Jets are a more mature team so less room for individual growth. As an player, he gives the impression that he doesn't have a big "crap-o-meter" but he's so talented that he could go off at anytime and have a 50G & 35A year while playing Fortnite 5 hours a night. He's a guy that can win you a league or he can just as easily lose it for you by giving you 20G & 20A.
If I had to pick between the two, I'd go with Brady Tkachuk.

Fairly close but I prefer Svech. I just don't like the way Laine plays. Yes he has an incredible shot. I think Laine is a little overrated because he tends to have huge games where he scores a lot. It just leaves a bigger mental impression. Meanwhile Svech was one of the most consistent point accumulators last season - if I remember correctly he had league-leading point streaks, and was breaking team point streak records. He didn't have a lot of huge statistical games but I think those will start to come as he matures.
