    Default Jake DeBrusk

Is it time to cut DeBrusk loose? I am in a dogfight for the last playoff spot in my pool and DeBrusk is killing me. 0 points in last 9 games. I doubt he will be a keeper next season (I have to trim my roster to 17 pro and 10 farm players) so thinking I might as well drop him now for someone more productive. He’s had decent stretches this year but he’s picked the worst time to be snakebitten. Should I move on?

You have a pretty strong looking team and I can't see Debrusk being a keeper for you. So that makes the decision easier. The question is, if you drop him, what do your other options look like. Who's available?

There’s guys like Adrian Kempe, Sonny Milano, Scott Laughton (who’s been on fire lately and contributes FW from the wing). I think I’m going to take a close look and just find the right fit. There’s no way I’d be keeping DeBrusk so not much sense holding onto him if he’s not helping my team.

I’d try to get some kind of asset back for him first, maybe a rebuilding team might be interested? In my league he fetched Pacioretty from a rebuilding team(younger players with upside usually have more value to rebuilding teams than older ones) just a thought.
