Shesterkin or Markstrom?!

Hey guys,

Markstrom still isn't on IR and I can only have 3 goalies. Shesterkin comes off the wire today and I don't want to miss my shot at him. My situation is this... I wouldn't slot Markstrom in until the last week of playoffs (March 23rd)... which I'm not even 100% sure I'll have him for given he's being re-evaluated in 2 weeks.

I feel Shesterkin could be back sooner than Markstrom and if back early could really help me in the 2nd week of playoffs (March 16th) and the last week (March 23rd).

Would you drop Markstrom for Shesterkin or hold?!

Not a keeper League?

They're still being very vague about Igors return. I cant see him back in two weeks with a rib injury. That twitter doctor Harjas Grewal says he figures 4 weeks for Igor but can see him return without rib being fully recovered in 2.
If it was a keeper league Id grab Igor, if not flip a coin.

Markstrom will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks.. I think Igor will be back prior but also depends if NYR is still in the playoff race. If they are out, I can see that they take their time with Igor.

I don't think either goalie will be back. I would rather roster someone that can help you make it to those final weeks.

Markstrom had a 'minor procedure' (probably an injection?) and will be re-evaluated March 12. All we know is it's a knee thing. The 'minor' description of the procedure is good news there. Probably a sprain, which matches the 2-4 week timeline.

Shesterkin had a non-displaced rib fracture and his timeline is for re-eval on March 8. No procedures are needed for this kind of injury - just rest up until the pain goes away, which can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks.

So all things being equal, Igor returns to action four days sooner

It seems there's a good chance both should be back for your March 23 target, so the question for me is who helps you more, rather than who's back sooner.

I didn't... was waiting to see if Markstrom was going to be placed on IR. I didn't want to drop him only to find out he was only out for a few weeks...
