Re: Gotta replace shesterkin, rank my options?
Blackwood - playing really well right now
Demko - will be the starter for weeks
Saros - taking over the crease - not clear if this is temporary or more permanent
Raanta - playing really well right now, but Kuemper has been recalled to the big club. Not sure what their split will be
Georgiev - Not sure how he and Lundqvist will split starts
Crawford - Has been getting > 50% starts and been doing well enough in them, but Chicago isn't getting him many wins. Add in that Crawford doesn't seem to let in fewer than 2 goals per game and his numbers could be great (40+ shots, 2 goals) or not so good (< 20 shots and 3 goals), he is a risky play.
Koskinen - Smith has been getting more and more starts - this means less and less value for Koskinen
This is a snapshot in time, but as will all things goalie, this may be different in a week. Blackwood and Demko are probably top 3 a week from now, but Saros, Raanta and Georgiev could increase or decrease their values depending on their splits.
