It's a sign of improved depth. They're better with Athanasiou than without, even if it's on L4.

This sums up my thoughts as well. The reality is he may not figure it out this season and he may never figure it out. But the upside is what we traded for and he's a nice depth piece as is.

He's a player that can create something out of nothing like few in the NHL can. So yes I still like the move .

That's the new age mentality. Teams need scoring from all lines so worst case he's a massive 4th line upgrade over a guy like Colby Cave.
