Perhaps but being involved in a league veto type deal is a bad look, especially since I am in the league exec, one of two commissioners and a founding member.. I guess I'm interested in seeing if others read it like me: absolutely crazy deal or some semblance of plausibility.

I really don't think this is veto worthy. Not even close. Mantha's stat line this year is pretty good too. He's close to a point per game.

I don't see this being a landslide either way.. Kaprizov is far from proven.. Mantha's ceiling is just getting tapped into and will increase over the next few years. Point is Point. Seems pretty fair to me.

I can see a rebuilding team doing this, so I doubt it gets vetoed.
However, if it gets vetoed, it's not solely your problem as a co-commissioner, it's also your problem as a league member. If stuff like this is getting vetoed, you should make sure to look hard at whether or not you want to be there next season, and that's only because you're a founding member, and clearly care a lot about it.

Well I accepted and while there was backlash it’s ultimately done. Feels like a ridiculous steal but maybe not if Mantha and Kap each go off for big seasons next year and beyond. Thanks for the soundboard fellas.
