It almost feels like this is more about moving Backes than it is acquiring Kase on the Boston side. Hard to believe he couldnt find his way on a team like Anaheim so it really questions his game for me. Upside is there but not sure what happened after a strong start to his career. Who knows, maybe he will step it up in Boston, but I am not expecting much from Kase.
Good return for Anaheim. Getting a 1st round pick and a decent D prospect for a guy who didnt seem to fit in is pretty solid and fits what they are doing there in Anaheim.

Kase’s a super nice addition, dumping Backes for that price too is pure gold. If Kase can get over the injury problems that have held him back the past few years he could really explode.
