    Default Zadina

How good do we think he’ll get? Will he be a points only stud sooner than later? I’ve been offered Ty Smith plus for my Zadina.

    What's the plus?
I feel like he's going to take some time.

He’s offering Smith plus a 7th round pick, which in our league won’t get me much in the draft.

The 7th doesn’t excite me. I do like Smith, though. I’m just trying to figure out who I’d like more long term.

Keep zadina. He is going to be a goal scoring machine. not Ovechkin level but I think he can be a 30-40 goal threat. Don’t forget they will be landing a top tier player this summer AND if that lands first overall the zadina is set for good!

Yeah, he's worth more than Smith and a throw-in pick.

I agree as well. His year has been broken up by going back down and a few injuries, but after no goals and 3 assists in his first 7 games he scored 8 goals and 4 assists in his next 21 games. It's not great but it's not nothing, especially on a team this bad.

Unless the + was something significant, I wouldnt trade Zadina for Smith.

Considering the wings couldn't score if their lives depended on it this year, Zadina has done very well in the limited time he has played in the NHL. He has definitely taken a step forward this year over last - his compete level on the ice is noticeably better and he looks like he has finally found his place and comfort level at the pro hockey level. I would expect Zadina to score at around a 40-45 point pace next year in his first full year and then progress into a reliable 60-65 point player with potential for more.

He’s changed his offer to William Karlsson or Marchessault plus Smith for Zadina. I’m not at all interested, but he’s being quite persistent and saying this is a good deal. I have no faith in either Vegas guy. Let me know if I’m crazy.

You're crazy to have no faith in them. They are both 55-60 point guys with upside for more. That may not be enough for you to make a move for a veteran in your situation, but I'm pretty confident in them to be that, especially Marchessault.

If you're competing I would take the deal immediately

I’m not competing. I’m rebuilding. For that reason, I don’t think Marchessault is ideal. Zadina is just getting started and long term I feel like he helps me more than Marchessault and Smith.

One way you rebuild is by moving unproven assets for proven assets with runway. March and Karlsson have 5-7 years ahead of them of reliable top 50 production.

Zadina is an idea at this point. And that’s no knock on Zadina.

You could be 1-2 years away from competing if you take advantage of other GM’s willingness to sell production for futures.
