    Default Big Game Hunting

Hey guys, I was looking to find a way to get a superstar onto my team.

Here is my team, 9th place out of 14th.

    Centers: Cirelli, Dvorak, Kuznetsov (IR)

Left Wing: Benn, Drouin, Carrier, Niederreiter, Killorn

Right Wing: Zuccarello, Kassian (Suspended), Konceny

Defense: Dahlin (Untouchable?), Lindell, Subban (Buyout Candidate), Josi, Zadorov (Streamer), Werenski.

    Goalies: NYI and LAK Tandem

Positions are 3 centers, left and right wings, 4 defense, and one utility spot.

Well, i've posted already about this team but i'm looking to find a superstar to build around. The only guy that I wouldn't want to move is Dahlin for sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

You're in a tough spot. Nothing I would really see as a key piece to build a deal around other than Dahlin.

Josi doesn't make sense as a move with his extension kicking in, so Werenski and Konecny are the closest.

I was thinking of Packaging Werenski or Josi, Konceny, and Kuznetsov. Would that get me anything?

I was thinking Kuznetzov/Konecny could fetch something. You'll have to find the right trade partner, probably east coast based.

Who would have more value in your opinion? Josi or Werenski? Maybe including one of them along with Kuz and Konceny could help?

14 teams x 3C positions likely means that there is a glut of C players. I'd look at other teams that have too many C to use then go after their 2nd or 3rd best one. You are going to have to offer up a D and a W or 2 W's.

Here are a couple of teams with deep center depth:
    3rd place team:
    Eichel
    Seguin
    Danault
    Eller

He doesn't want to move Eichel but is Seguin Worth it?

    1st place team:
    MacKinnon
    Larkin
    Backstrom
    Pageau
Not sure if MacKinnon would be available probably not lol.
    8th place team:
    McDavid
    Bergeron
    Point
    Kopitar
Well, he has amazing centers, I just moved Bergeron to him for Dvorak and my 1st rounder back which would net me Lafreniere. Thanks for the response in advance

Seguin is certainly an upgrade to what you have now. He's only 28... Had a rough stretch that he is coming out of. He would be a good target. Larkin is a guy I would be going after. I like him in your format. He value is depressed as the Wings have played like warm puke this season.
Kopitar, Bergeron and Backstrom are all good players that should have a lower price tag based on age bias.

What don't want to give up too much on your end (as you are not that deep), so you need to find a target that has a hole that you can fill then, listen to what they can give you back. You can't be too picky here. You have some work to do with that line-up. You need to take some baby-steps.

You don't have the pieces to get an A+ asset so you will have to either get in on a guy like that early (Pettersson, from a deep team), or get him later (Malkin) on the life cycle. You should also be looking at the Hertl, Guentzel, E Karlsson. You can pluck these guys from contending GMs if they are desperate enough.

alright, I will post here again once I have made a deal work. Thanks for the help as I will try to get someone with a reasonable cap hit since this is a cap league. The cap is 95.4 million in our league and I have around 4-5 million to work with.

Cap League changes it a bit. Target teams in cap trouble. I play in cap leagues and I am always pushing the cap to the limit. Find your league's version of me. I have gifted away some damn good players when I got caught between a rock and a cap hard place.

alright. I believe if I can get Barkov and Connor, i’ll be in better shape. I’m saving some cap since Josi’s extension and Cirelli’s extension will take up some money.

just wondering, Panarin and Malkin could be on the table. I'm interested in Malkin but is Panarin's contract too large? Thanks for the response in advance
