Did I lose or win this trade?

Traded my E.Lindholm, Forsberg, Hart in return for Giroux, Toffoli, Francouz


Flames play 2 games 1st week of playoffs so that was my main reason in doing this. Gain an extra game with Giroux. Forsberg has been especially stinking it up since the Preds coaching change and I’m a Canucks fan who’s optimistic Toffoli easily slots in the top6 and starts producing. Hart for Francouz kind of had to since the other guy wanted Hart but Francouz could be starter for a week or so with Grubauer hurt which doesn’t look too serious.

On paper I prefer the Lindholm side since what you traded for are based on future expectation:
- that Grioux will start to heat up to save what is considered the worst season to date
- that Toffoli will stick on line 1 with Pettersson and Miller and click right away
- that Francouz will get more starts going forward due to Grubauer injury (although the team is going through some tough time with injuries)

Lindholm is pretty established and Hart will continue to be the starter when healthy. Forsberg is kinda on-pace with his usually production.

So I feel like you are trading sure things for potential higher ceilings.

yeah i dont think i would have made this trade but i dont think it will win or loose you anything on its own....its relatively close

i probably would not have made this move. You're giving up established players for a backup goalie and a shot in the dark toffoli meshes with Vancouver

The only thing I feel I lost out on is the goalies. Giroux as up and down as he’s been this year still has more pool points than Lindholm and he’s been heating up the last few weeks. And again, main reason was getting an extra game 1st week of playoffs.

Forsberg has been so frustrating this year. If it weren’t for his name he’d be less than 70% owned across all leagues. He’s just a shinier-named Radulov this season. As of late since the Preds coaching change, Granlund has been tearing it up and he’s available on waivers so if anything, can pick him up. Forsberg gets around 14-16 minutes a game now. Granlund gets 16+. I think he’s the better player to own at this point in the season anyways. And as for Toffoli, it was Miller-Petey-himself on a line at practice this morning :]

Not sure I would have made this deal, but if Grubs is out longer term it might start looking better. Francouz a pretty solid goalie and will likely see a boatload of starts. Even without Rantanen and Kadri I think Colorado will still win their fair share of games.

Francouz and Toffoli are both doing well so far. Let's see if it carries through till end of the season. Hope it does!

Toffoli 6 points in 3 games with the Canucks. Forsberg is a los cause.

That difference alone makes this deal worthwhile for me and was the risk I took making it. Giroux is greater or equal to Lindholm.

hey so far so good there is no doubt he looks good in BC, if you're happy with the deal that's all that matters.
