Trading Vasilevskiy or not ?
Trading Vasilevskiy in a Keep 6
Background.
I agreed in an email from OGM to accept his Crosby, Samsonov for my Scheifele, Binnington. Crosby was injured that night. OGM assured me he would do the trade on Crosby’s return.
A couple weeks ago an email from OGM suggested and I agreed to his Crosby, Pavelski & 15th pick for my Binnington, Nylander & 10th pick. He then wanted to see how his team performed and said to wait to our trade deadline the 19th.
In the meantime I have made wholesale changes. (not contending) adding Andersen, Bergeron, Marchand, McDavid, Vasilevskiy.
Now it’s his Crosby plus whatever for McDavid or Vasilevskiy.
He has Hellebuyck, Samsonov, Crosby, Matthews, Pettersson, Laine, Tarasenko, Q.Hughes.
Do I ignore him or offer up Vasilevskiy for something like Crosby, Matthews, Laine, Samsonov.
Currently I have 6 of Vasilevskiy, Andersen, McDavid, Marchand, Bergeron, Scheifele, Rielly.
Then I can trade off the excess keepers for picks or upgrades.
What would you do ? I’m just very disappointed in not obtaining Crosby ( my favourite) at a reasonable value.

If you’re not contenting, there’s no way I’m trading either McDavid or Vasi for Crosby. McDavid and Vasi are exactly the type of younger players you want to keep and build a team around. Yes Crosby has been great, but he is getting up there in age and I’d rather you set up your team for long term success than grab Crosby and gamble on how long he’ll remain elite. Especially in a keep 6 league.

I think maybe your trying a bit to hard to get a trade done. Sounds like the Crosby owner is jerking you around a bit and that's an good opportunity for you to take a step back and look things over for a while. If you are in building mode then I would highly recommend you build around guys like Vasi and McDavid, you do not trade them. Your maybe squeezing the stick a bit too hard (:
