Default Is this an "awful, unbalanced trade?"

League in sig. Multicat dynasty format.

I just completed a deal that has been approved and executed.
One GM has called it "awful and unbalanced."
I gave Landeskog, Kirill Kaprizov and John Marino for Art Panarin.

I felt it was fair value. So did the OGM. What do you guys think?

This is how I feel. Might even be the Landeskog side.

    For which side?

I prefer the Panarin side because he is the best in the deal (scoring anyway), but I can see an argument for the Landy side too.

I like the Panarin side here as well. But a very fair price was paid. This is not an "awful, unbalanced trade" IMO.

I like the Panarin side but it isn't hard to see a situation where 5 years from now, the Landeskog/Kaprizov side turns out to be better. The angry owner likely discounts Marino as having come out of nowhere and thus worth nothing, Kaprizov having not played in the NHL and thus worth nothing, and then Landeskog (having lost 20 games to injury) being far less than Panarin has been this year. Although I think in your system, last year Landeskog alone bests Panarin. If that's true, maybe the Landeskog side is the winner. Perhaps all of this is to say that no side is clearly superior.

It's not normal fantasy league unbalanced at all.

It is a "Doug's consolidating his talent again, so he opens more spots to grab people we missed or don't have room for to flip for consolidated value later on and I need to whine about this a litttle" trade, which isn't unbalanced itself, but makes the league balance skew further.

Positive, I'm in two leagues, and neither is your format. I know you're kidding, but I wasn't - I'm sure that's it.

While Panarin is offensive gold, he does lose some value in multicat leagues simply because he's soft. Landeskog as we all know is valuable in multicat leagues. For you, I do think you paid a lot to get Panarin but I do think that's the price to pay as well.

In all honesty, until we see what Kaprizov is in the NHL, it's hard to really know if you overpaid or not. If he turns out to be electric, then you probably lost this trade but that's the unknown.

What we do know today is that if you needed offense, you just improved your team.

Gentlemen, as always I appreciate your feedback.
Seems like its a fair deal that could be won by either side. Thats my kind of trade.
Steve I think you got closest to the truth here.
    Thanks for participating.
