    Default [Trade] Coleman to TB

Good trade for both sides. Coleman offers a lot for the cap hit, but he didn't come cheap.

In exchange for Coleman, the Devils get prospect Nolan Foote and Vancouver's first-round pick which Tampa got in the J.T. Miller trade

Crazy so the Colorado trade was a false report

That's a pretty good return for the Devils.
Coleman is a useful player though, great depth addition.

I like Tampa being somewhat aggressive with the value they are giving up.
Let's not forget they got ran over in 1st round by Columbus so adding some sandpaper with scoring ability is very much needed.
Good move by Brisbios to do it.

And, good return for the Devils as well.

    Win on both sides.

Devil's did a good job selling high. Seems that's the price for a good player with a bit of term left on a reasonable contract.
Will be interesting if the nucks don't make the playoffs and its not a lottery protected pick next year.

Nice sell-high indeed. This rarely happens in the NHL. Usually they sell low.

Where's he going to play in Tampa? Going to bump Palat off Line 2? Coleman with Cirelli sounds like a great 2nd line to me.

Wow nice return for NJ. Seems like a tad much to give up for Tampa but he’s still a nice addition. I’m curious about his role in Tampa too...being an owner and all. Unfortunately I’d expect his monster peripherals to take a hit. Probably safe to say he’ll get less ice time.

My real debate with this trade is would you rather have Zucker or Coleman? Basically the same price no?

I like this move for Tampa a lot.

You get a guy who has shown he can produce points at 5 on 5 and shorthanded on a much less talented team. He eats about half the shorthanded time, and has not been on the powerplay much at all on his former team. He also bring a physical edge which Tampa's been lacking, but he's also not remotely just a grit guy.

cap space also has value and zucker aint cheap. few players could be fit under tampa's very limited remaining cap space and still be effective

As far as Tampa is concerned, they'd want Coleman simply due to the money. This trade was about money as much as it was about anything else. 1.8 mil vs. Zucker's 5.5.

For a playoff run, Coleman is the type of player I'd want.

I read he's not going to play in Colorado on Monday night? Not sure why? Read this in The Athletic:

Coleman, who is planning to join the Lightning in Las Vegas on their current road trip, said he’s excited for a chance to play for a Stanley Cup. “My dream.”

Am I the only person who thinks it's funny that the Devils got just as much for Blake Coleman as they did for Taylor Hall?
