Seth Jones for a 1st Round Keeper Draft Pick?
ok so hear me out, right now i am near the top in the standings in my standard yahoo keeper (keep 10) league. Jones is out for the season. With the trade deadline looming, I was thinking it might be smart to get an asset for him now that can either help me this year or next since i may lose him in the draft next year.
My team is currently is in my signature. I have some of these guys in IR which is why its a little larger.
The guys i am thinking of keeping are Barkov, MacKinnon, B.Tkachuk, Panarin, Laine, DeAngelo, Hughes, Andersen, Shesterkin.
This leaves me with 1 spot. I feel like Trouba is kind of close in value to Jones in multi-cat leagues. Konecny is having a break out year. Lindholm is down this year but still a decent winger.
I guess for my keepers i am weighing their WAR value to see it is harder to replace Jones vs Trouba vs a different forward.
Guys that went in the 1st round (after keepers last year are) Jack Hughes, Hamilton, Makar, Markstrom, Keller, Q. Hughes, B. Tkahuck, Yandle.
I think its a good idea to get an asset for Jones since i dont think its THAT much of a dropoff from him to my next keeper. i am not giving anything up on my current roster since Jones is gone for rest of the season.
Sorry for the ramble. What are everyone elses thoughts? Trying to manage my assets since the fantasy trade deadline in our league is next week

Yes, that's a very good move. You have a bunch of guys in same range as last keeper, dealing an injured guy makes sense.

Pretty straight forward for me, Jones is not a keeper, Jones will contribute nothing to your team this year, go get what you can for him now.

If Jones is out for the year, I'm not sure why anyone one most a first for him. Even if he's a keeper upgrade, it just doesn't seem worth the cost.
