He's in 10th place with a slim shot of making playoffs (4 weeks left). He accepted every trade I proposed but no one will let anything go through for McDavid, and so they're telling him to just give up.

100% agree, this is truly a win-win trade. The other owner cannot benefit from McDavid's production if he does not make the playoffs and there's a small but none-zero risk that McDavid misses time into the fantasy playoffs.

I agree that it's sensible, but since McDavid has god status, no one is allowed to trade for him.
Since I'm in first, everyone is afraid of what my team could be and is shutting down my trades.
