    Default Trade away Quinn Hughes?

Team info is in the signature.

I kept Hughes as a prospect last season into this season and I've liked what I've seen. I'm defending champion, 1st in division and 2nd overall this season so far.

I was offered Kris Letang (2.64fppg average) for Hughes (1.82 avg)

Should I make this move? With Weber and Giordano on the shelf as well.

Wasn't sure if I was going to keep Hughes or go all forwards and Vas again next season (Eichel, Pet, Landeskog, Panarin, Kane, Rant)

    Cheers!

I want Hughes over the 33 year old often injured Letang and I didn't have to think about it for to long (:

If you aren't keeping Hughes, this is a clear upgrade. If you are keeping a D, it's an upgrade short-term, but not long-term.

If all your forwards rate out higher than Hughes in where they stand relative to their positional peers, I do this, and don't look back.

On the face this seems crazy but if Hughes isn't being kept then why not take the short-term upgrade? It's risky, Letang always seems one shift away from being injured, but when healthy he's one of the best fantasy D around.

I'm a huge Hughes fan but agree you're probably not keeping him ahead of any of your other keepers so I like this move. If you are keeping a D, then I run away from this deal quickly.

    Thanks everybody!

If I keep Hughes, this is what my keepers will look like:

Eichel, Panarin, Rantanen, Hughes, Pionk, Provorov, Vas
    Or
Eichel, Petterson, Panarin, P. Kane, Rantanen, Hughes, Pionk

    Without Hughes:

Eichel, Petterson, Panarin, Landeskog, P. Kane, Rantanen, Vas

So I guess this is the real question still. If I prefer the without Hughes group, make the deal and hope Letang stays healthy for the homestretch

Is Hughes notably better than Pionk & Provorov right now? I'd say per game, but I know Provorov has played them all, unsure about Hughes/Pionk.

Maybe.. but not for Letang. I personally love when my competitors trade for Letang... never disappoints!!

Pionk is awesome.. Provorov is not a keeper. you'll be able to pick him up next season around the middle point for a decent price.

I'd ride the Pettersson Hughes train for a little while longer. They will be really good next season.

Looking at average fantasy points per game, they rank:

    Season
    1. Pionk 2.39
    2. Provorov 1.96
    3. Hughes 1.84

    Last 30 days
    1. Pionk 2.65
    2. Hughes 2.03
    3. Provorov 1.34

As I somewhat expected his lack of multi-cat grit makes Q Hughes expendable.
