Campbell a decent add for streaming Fri/Sat?
Some wrinkles in all this:
- Not the first time Dubas traded for Campbell. November 2011 Dubas traded Braid, Sieloff, and 6 draft picks for Campbell. The deal was between the Soo Greyhounds and Windsor Spitfires
- Dubas used to be an agent before becoming the GM of the Soo Greyhounds. He was the youngest agent ever certified by the NHLPA and worked with Uptown Sports Management. His first client was Clifford. He switched from being an agent because too many clients were leaving for other agents. Could be because Dubas was set up in Europe at the time.
- Moore is from LA area, Clifford is from Ayr Ontario, Campbell is from Port Huron Michigan. Everyone ends up a little closer to their hometown. Sucks for them since all have been in their previous cities long enough to set up a life though.
- Leafs now have a goalie eligible to be exposed in the Seattle draft if the rules remain the same as the Vegas draft.

I wont be surprised to see both Kaskisuo AND Hutchinson on waivers as early as today.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League
25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting

Then I see them keeping up Hutch and putting Kask on waivers. Campbell will start if Andersen is still hurt.
At some point, both Hutch and Kask will be on waivers and should clear easily.

If I was Toronto, I'd have Andersen sit Friday, play Saturday if he's healthy. And have Andersen travel to Montreal right now.
However, to help Hutch save some face, maybe he's sent away before the media hits practice tmo (Leafs are off today). Campbell Friday, Andersen Saturday (if healthy, Kaskisuo if not).

More than they should've paid for a backup of that caliber but they had zero leverage. This is what happens when you wait too long and have a soft spot for people when you need to be ruthless.
It is what it is, at least we didn't give up anything that will have an immediate impact.
I think Hutchinson is demoted today and Kaskisuo kept around as backup for now.
We may never see Hutchinson in an NHL uniform again.

3 B2Bs, 2 4-game weeks. 14 home games, 14 away games. So if Campbell goes 6-0, Andersen then plays 22 of 28games...That's a large load. So Campbell will likely get 8+ games.

While Jack's numbers aren't great this year. They were last year in a larger sample.
He's been statistically better this year and last than Quick.
Put on a team that has something to play for and will be stronger in front of him - provide a lot more goal support. He should provide a significant upgrade on Hutchinson.
If Andersen is not ready to go this weekend for either game. I would not be surprised if Campbell gets both starts. Especially if he plays well on Fri.
Hutchinson wasn't an NHL goalie the last year he played in Winnipeg. He was an emergency signing in Tor - the last time Andersen got hurt. Due to being pinned against the cap - they resigned him as the cheapest option.
There's way to many posts about who Tor sends down.
It doesn't matter.
Neither Kask or Hutch are NHL goalies.
You're splitting hairs here over the better AHL goalie.
Send Hutch to the Marlies to get them into the playoffs and help groom Woll.
Leafs might be better off sending both down and dressing their equipment manager behind Campbell.

If Hutch is sent down, it's to protect Hutch from the Media. He'll get asked questions when on the Marlies, but those quotes won't be as out there as if he's the backup tmo.
Keefe/Dubas and the new guys are in front of the media at noon, we'll know more info then.

Hutchinson's demotion would be based on merit. He's been given so many chances to be an NHL goalie and he's come up way short.
