Talbot getting tossed didn't help the Flames any, he looked motivated to stop the bleeding in goal. They had to go back to that stick-tosser Rittich who sealed the rout for the Oilers. Can't wait for April 4!
So, Talbot and Smith are ejected for fighting and both teams are playing their other goalie. Apparently the “emergency goalie” suits up and will now play for WHICHEVER team may need him? With no team affiliation? That’s messed up...

If I was at an NHL game I would gladly be loyal to both sides as an emergency backup waiting on the sidelines. Regardless of the team if I ever got into a game the outcome would be terrible!

This is the case for every single NHL game. There is always 1 EBUG (emergency back up goalie) at every NHL game. Every NHL city has one or more of them who attend that team's home games with their gear in the rink in case they are called upon. Here's an article/interview with one of them from Minnesota.
