Default Barkov for a 2nd Round Pick

In first place, team is in signature.

Should I take Barkov for a 2nd round pick? Looking to be 18,19,20th overall.

Leaning towards yes to make a push for this season.

    Thoughts?

If you are in first place and can add Barkov to your line up without having to subtract then by all means MASH THE ACCEPT BUTTON!!

Hell yes accept that. Barkov easily becomes a keeper and probably your best player.

What does "After 4th round drafted" mean? You can only keep players drafted after the fourth round? Guessing Barkov is a first round pick last season and next?

You could accept that no-brainer trade or, for the sanctity of your league, you could decline and discuss with the manager and the commissioner why this GM is making such an obvious and detrimental mistake.

Unless Barkov cannot be kept by the current owner (Drafted in rounds 1-4? as Gavin eluded to above) and the current owner is packing it in for the year and setting themselves up for next season... ¯\_(?)_/¯ Whatever the case, if you aren't accepting this offer you have to know that one of your competitors is.

I'd take that - if he's keepable via league format, he might be one for you.

Barkov would not be available to be kept as he was a first round pick. Should have clarified that. Thanks for the input guys!

Great catch Moses! So this makes the trade a little bit more reasonable as its Barkov for only this season vs. a pick for all of next season. Still a deal I take since you're in first place and pushing for a win.

    That's great take it.

    McDavid/Necas/ Kucherov/Bjorkstrand/Rust/Nugent Hopkins/Cirelli/Zegras/- Letang/Morrissey/Dahlin - Swayman/Saros/Skinner

    Prospects include:
    McTavish/Clarke/Bordeleau
    Dumais/Korchinski/Hutson

Don't worry I'm not going to say anything more than I have to. If that.

This is definitely why context is key. The person would otherwise lose Barkov for nothing, meanwhile now they're obtaining a top 20 player for next year's draft .

So you can only own him for the rest of this year?
