Hamilton, Tarasenko -- Drop one, both, neither?

I'm in a 3 keeper league, team in signature. 1 IR slot.

With Hamilton and Tarasenko now injured, what should I do, with an eye to next year? I'm competing this year, but feel like I could carry both until next year, with the intention of keeping both as keepers.

It's a tight league. I'm 6 points out of first, in 5th place, winning this two-week matchup 7-2.

If I were to drop one, the most likely waiver replacement would be Adam Fox, or one more dedicated center to win faceoffs. (Kadri, Dubois, possibly Strome). I've been leaning on ROR and Malkin, but with bye weeks coming up, I may need a center if one of them has a light weekly schedule.

Other propective keepers (again, this league has 3): Rantanen, Panarin, Malkin, Samsonov (?), Jarry (?). The goalies really depend on what happens in the offseason with Holtby and Murray.

Is it worth holding both? I can hold one on IR unless another critical injury happens. Essentially, is it worth losing a bench spot to hold Hamilton AND Tarasenko as a keeper?

Nope. I'd rank Panarin and Rantanen above both Tank and Hamilton pretty easily. So I'd be dropping at least one of those guys, and probably Tank because with Hamilton's breakout I'd think Tank's going to be easier to redraft. I'd also likely keep Malkin, Samsonov, or Jarry over Hamilton. But for Jarry and Samsonov that's going to depend on what Pit and Was do with Murray and Holtby.

I'd drop one of them, but the question is which one.

Tarasenko I think may be back very late this year - check on his latest timeline.
Hamilton I think is out for the rest of the season.

Therefore it comes down to keeper quality versus a chance at production. I think if you drop Tarasenko, he will likely go unclaimed, but Hamilton will get claimed.

I agree with both--thanks for the affirmation! There is a chance Tarasenko comes back this season, but if he does it seems it will be really late. Keepers will likely be Rantanen/Panarin/+1, with a chance of it being Dougie. For now, I'm going to drop Tank, and probably pick up a center.
