Default Big decisions for a title push

    Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to ready this. Looking for some input for all of you knowledgeable folk!

Got another 4 match ups (including current) left to cement my play-off position. 10-team league split into two divisions. Top two in each division get bye to semi final whilst other 4 qualifiers play first in quarter final.

I'm currently top of my division by 10.5 won categories over season. Across played categories this is my ranking:

    Goal - 3rd
    Assists - 10th
    PIM - 1st
    PPP - 10th
    SHP - 2nd
    Shots - 2nd
    Hits - 2nd
    Blocks - 1st
    D points - 7th
    Wins - 1st
    Saves - 1st
    SO - 5th
    Save % - 2nd

A good performance in this current match up should be good enough to get across the line into semi final and then anything can happen so trying to prepare for those match ups now.

As you can see from my squad, it's in a lot of flux right now. Some original draft picks in Ghost and Gusev didn't work out. I've also lost Guentzel for the season. Mantha is on IR with no return and now Dougie so in short I'm currently rolling with 4/5 streaming spots (Just grabbed Bjorkstrand and think he might be a long term add). Looking for advice on the following:

    1. Is Dougie done for the season? I've not read much that is definitive apart from B D'A's latest comment that he isn't counting on Dougie this season - safe to drop?

    2. I was offered Kucherov for Hall and Markstrom. I've turned this down but anyone think I'm crazy? My reasoning is that for the categories I am strong in, Kucherov is not a huge upgrade on Hall (Goals - already competitive, Shots and Hits - less than Hall). He'd be an upgrade in assists and PPP but I'm already bottom of those so feel it is a wasted effort. Plus Markstrom has been great so far so feel this is too much to give up.

    3. I'm thinking Gibson is my biggest trade piece. There are a couple of team in need of a goalies and he's been disappointing. However I can likely trade his starts and save counts. He's got a good schedule in playoff but if I can get a replacement for Hamilton I'm thinking this might be worthwhile and then use my streaming spots to bring in goalies. Comparable options in our league settings are Weber and Dumba. I think I can probably work a 1-1 for both. The Dumba owner also has Forsberg and I'm tempted to look at moving Debrincat for Forsberg in the deal as well. I feel Dumba is coming back around and I think I might be able to make that happen. Anyone have thoughts on this? Or should I try and work a Gibson/Hall for Kucherov trade? Alternatively playing three goalies and streaming in a fourth has been my strategy all year which has seen me only lose 4 match ups so far.

Appreciate your input if you have any? Our league is only 6 years old but keen to become first repeat champ this year and looking to use this 2 week match up to make final big changes for play offs.

Yes I think Dougie is done for the year.

If you can move Gibson and Hall for Kuch and something, I would go for that. You have 9 strong categories, and making them even stronger would cement you as the favourite in a H2H league.

Appreciate that. Losing Dougie has left me very short on D. I could go with specialists and forgoe the D category but looking to get a 2nd tier defensemen to get me by.

The Shea Weber owner is looking for a G and he'd probably be my top target for filling in Dougie peripherals with offensive upside. Trying to convince the owner of a 1 for 1

The Matt Dumba owner is also the Kucherov owner so I'm trying to think of ways to package this together. Gibson/Hall/Debrincat for Kucherov/Dumba.

Or picking up players like Chiarot, Graves etc. who are on waiver

trade Gibson for Weber immediately if he bites; Bjorkstrand give a long leash, he seems primed for production, scooped myself w/ long term intention. Do not trade Markstrom unless you get the moon in return, underrated and consistent, he's just too valuable. Dubnyk like me you're stuck with, so hope for a turn around in the second half. You get 7 streams per week use them all.
