How long of a leash does Morrissey get?

Gents,

I've struggled with Morrissey all season. I don't think I'm posting this if he's on PP1 like he was supposed to be with Big Buff out. Pionk had other plans... I've tried trading him basically all season and no one seems interested. I suspect if I dropped him that he would go unclaimed and sit in free agency.

So, the question is with 2 points in his last 12 games is it time to move on? In a point based league where PPP are critical, is he the drop and do we stream this third defensive spot from here on out?

Next week he plays four games (2 weeks because of the all star break), so I think I'm going to leave him in for that. But come Monday at 4pm I feel like it's time to stream for man games/matchups with that spot.

Yep, drop him and go with a stream. He’s had more than enough time to prove himself and it hasn’t panned out.


I’d look at one of Gardiner/Vatanen first.

Agreed, in a keep 2 and the season rolling along, Morrissey is not helping and there are some decent streaming options available for you, time to move on. Tough to rank them, but Vatanen, and Gardiner could work. Id keep a close eye on Gardiner, with the injury to Hamilton, the PP1 is open, Slavin got the first shot but didn't do much with it. If Gardiner gets a shot, which I think he will (maybe even today vs the Islanders), there are some points to be had for sure, he could well be your first option. Even with a slight regression, Vatanen could also help. Not sure how many FA pick ups you get, but I'd also keep a close eye on guys like Ghost and Dumba, if one or both actually wake up, they could become options as well.

Thanks guys. Keeping my eye on Gardiner for sure. We have unlimited adds but lineups lock weekly. Of course Morrissey plays 4 games for the next two matchups and the Devils/canes only play three.

For our playoffs Carolina plays 4 games all three weeks so I may not be able to let him sit if he gets a sniff on pp1.

I'm tied for first in this league and it's a really tight race so every point matters down the stretch.
