What are the chances he’s the Washington starter next season, And if so where would he rank goalie wise in a wins and shutouts dominant league?

Based on what I have read it is not likely Holtby is back. Other posts suggest a likely time share in Washington, as they will re-sign a free agent goalie. Tough to know for sure, but he is proving to be a very good goalie who should be strong in your categories for a Washington team that remains very competitive for at least the next few seasons.

After the Backstrom extension I'd say the odds are not great for Holtby staying around. Samsonov has shown he can play thus far. He may go through some ups and downs and they probably bring in a vetaran backup who can play half the games if need be. I would be surprised if he is back, although I guess there's a chance he takes a short term discount deal. I would expect Holtby to try to hit a home run on a long term extension though.

I would bet heavily on Samsonov being the starter in Washington next season. From what we've seen from him so far this year, I'm buying as many stocks as I can in keeper leagues. To say that he's the next Vasilevskiy is asking too much, but with the volatility in the goalie position, and the strength of the team in front of him, I don't think that it's unreasonable for him to put up top 12 fantasy numbers next season.
