Default Trade Dumba for potential future stud?

I'm doing a complete overhaul of my team in a deep league with 9 keepers per team. It's an 18 team league, meaning 162 players get kept each year. That gives future young studs a lot of value, especially for a rebuilding team like mine.

Dumba is my worst defenseman this year and the Boqvist owner proposed a straight up swap. I wouldn't be keeping Dumba as of today.

I really like Boqvist and that the PP1 spot basically is his already in CHI. He fits my team better age wise than Dumba, as I'm not a contenter for a couple of years anyway.

What do you think? Should I ask him for Boqvist and a pick upgrade in exchange for Dumba? Or steer clear?

Well, if Dumba isn't a keeper and Boqvist would be a keeper, the deal makes sense. I doubt you'd get a pick in addition to Boqvist, considering the season Dumba is having, but it is worth asking, I suppose.

Thanks, I'll see if he's willing to do a pick upgrade. Otherwise I think I'll just accept the proposal as is.

I'd take that trade straight up.

    McDavid/Necas/ Kucherov/Bjorkstrand/Rust/Nugent Hopkins/Cirelli/Zegras/- Letang/Morrissey/Dahlin - Swayman/Saros/Skinner

    Prospects include:
    McTavish/Clarke/Bordeleau
    Dumais/Korchinski/Hutson

Don't worry I'm not going to say anything more than I have to. If that.

You want to ask for that pick in the nicest way possible (:

You don't want to piss this guy off. Given your circumstances and the players involved, I don't think you want this one to slip away on you.

Personally I'd hold Dumba for one more year. Guy was a stud prior to his injury and everything pointed to improving. Dmen take a long time to develop and the path isn't straight. Boqvist is far from a lock and could take 4-5 years before he hits his stride. I'm not sure if peripherals come into play for you or not but this is another strength of Dumba.

I would hold onto Dumba as well. Hate selling low on guys that have a track record of success.
