Which trade would you rather...

My Holtby + Svechnikov + 2nd round pick

For...

Option 1: Rask, Pacioretty, 5th round

Option 2: Hellebuyck, O’Reilly, 6th round

Both GMs are bottom half of the pool and playing for next year, I’m in first and making a run and anxiously waiting for Kuemper to return.

I would lean towards option 1 since I'd rather have Patches than O'Reilly but not counting shots, Svech and Patches is a lateral move, with the added worry that Patches has had bad years very recently but the bottom could give out at any time (though I doubt it). Svechnikov is going to be awesome and in a keeper his value should be higher than the upgrade from Holtby to Rask. If Rask were playing every game with these numbers, I would say go for it, but again, giving up way too much for a 50/50 goalie split. Maybe pull the draft picks out of the equation entirely.

Of course take this with a grain of salt since I only do one years and you're in the wrong forum for this.

Thanks, I normally post my stuff here as most of it is more relevant to the day to day of a 1 year.

Svechnikov won’t be a keeper for me, but might be for the two I’m offering too.

If he's going to be a keeper for them, I wouldn't give up a 2nd as well. I would even lean towards keeping Svechnikov and releasing Bergeron (he's great, but is injury prone and getting up there in age), but if you're all in this year I still think a 2nd round is too much and would cut out the picks entirely.

neither, feel both are downgrades for returns. I would dump Raanta once Darcy is back.

Oh ya, Raanta is toast. I’m rolling the wire for my second goalie now (Samsonov today). Picks aside I feel #1 is the better player swap for me (this season), I won’t be keeping any players involved from any side of the deals.

I would keep Svech over Patches or ROR (FOW might sway things... maybe) ... unless you can't keep him. I think you need to re-evaluate

I'd keep what you have - giving away the better players and the better picks.

If you are looking to move those players because they are not keepers for you, I would at least try and get the better pick.

We have 4 keepers year to year and mine will be Kucherov, Eichel, Hedman with a few questionables next. But not sure I’m ready to give it to Svechnikov.

Svechnikov is your most worthy player of being a keeper after the ones you listed. Hellebuyck might be worth a look, but I wouldn't trade Svech for ROR, especially not with a 2nd rounder included.
