    Default Morgan Rielly

For a points only league not in sig.

What's the deal with Rielly? Is he more a 45-50pt dman or a 72pt dman?

I'm not sure how to project him for the remainder of this season and continuing on into the next few seasons. He lost his PP time but will Barrie return following this season? Does he regain his PP time next year?

Any help and/or suggestions is greatly appreciated and will be rep'd.

I was just about to come post this exact same question. He looked unstoppable last year! I think he steps forward again next year when he's the undisputed main man again, but I'm not as sure as I once was. Hoping he's a 60-65 pointer here on out? He's still young.

2 differences this season that jump out to me.

    1) Barrie/Keefe. Before Babcock was fired Rielly was on PP1. Now, with Keefe as HC, Barrie is on PP1.

    2) S%. Last season Rielly scored 20 goals (only 3 on the PP) and had a S% of 9%. This season it's at 2.5%. Last season seems like an anomaly.

As a salty owner of Rielly, I think best case 60 points, worst case 45 points. I'm expecting 50 points.

He's closer to the 70pt player.
He's been playing hurt most of the season - that was pretty well documented in the fall. Shelton made mention of it several times.

To the extent he skipped almost every practice and some game day skates in November.

The injury has healed slightly allowing him to practice now but he's still in a lot of pain.
Much less now than before, but the pain is still there.
Leafs are coy on what the injury is, it's not a tear or anything to that extent, but it's a serious lingering issue that just recently has started to improve.

Definitely a good season to acquire Rielly & look to next year - or hope he continues to improve for end of season.
If they lock down a playoff birth with a few games remaining this year - expect him to sit a couple to end the reg. season - that's a potential fantasy finals kick in the balls

I'd be buying on Rielly considering Barrie is almost a sure goner this off season
