I'm surprised by this move. Be interesting to see how the new coach deals with the goalies (ie- give Saros the reins?).

I'm surprised as well, but on the other side; surprised it took this long.
I think the move will be good for Turris, and maybe Granlund. I think Rinne and Saros will be more of a hot hand situation as we go forward.

Generally it should help the team though, because Laviolette was suffocating the talent on this team by a lot of the fancy stats.

Yeah, the line shakeups(if any) will be interesting to see as well

I would for sure. Let’s hope Granlund can find some game too. I don’t own him but he’s sucked all season.

It's about time. Should have happened a month ago. This team has looked awful the last 25 games or so.

I was just about to drop Granlund. Now I'm curious if this shakes things up.

Friedman is thinking it might be DeBoer or Hynes as his replacement, but he's not sure.

Are either of those two more offensively minded than Lavo? I need someone to unleash the offense and get Duch and Jarnkrok going.

They don't have to be more offensively minded, they just have to be able to get the most out of the team. The team is about 7th in league scoring, but it has been very inconsistent, and empty. With some better structure to the team, the powerplay should pick up, and we'll stop having players like Watson biting into the offence, with the stars getting the brunt of the good deployment.

I’ll admit to not following NSH as much this year as I have as I didn’t find them as ‘exciting’ to watch as past years. So this assessment of the change in philosophy and / or deployment is hopefully on the horizon to where Duchene is again fantasy worthy and holds value. I understand that real world value is much different from fantasy value but I’m not a real world GM.
