Not a great day for my fantasy team with the Olofsson news and now Rust off PP1.
https://twitter.com/mattvensel/status/1213151896686485504?s=20
Just saw this at NHL dot com:
Crosby wore a no-contact jersey to start practice Friday. He changed into a regular black sweater before joining Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and Patric Hornqvist, with Jared McCann and Bryan Rust alternating, on the top power-play unit during drills.
--So Rust was alternating with McCann and not completely off PP1. That's encouraging.

Might not stay that way. That PP is nice on paper, but if it's not working, and it isn't always very effective, Rust will get another shot.

Interesting theyre practising Sid on pp1 when it still doesnt sound like he's coming into the lineup. I guess they're working on it for if and when he's back. I think he might still be a few games away.

Sid said he might go on next week's road trip. A decision would be made after he skates more over the weekend.
I added Horny, but perhaps should've gone with McCann.

Hope no one bought high on Rusty- I know I didnt. Mind you my interest never had a chance as Forsberg was the srtarting point and that was never gobnna happen- lol! If you were selling hope you got value already because his bubble just popped...
Looks like Rust will slow down for sure if he is demoted off the PP1. Crazy how his skill and energy seems to be overlooked by coaches regardless of how well he produces. He is a the straw the stirs the drink when he is on the ice. Seems crazy to move him off the top PP unit when he is playing so well. Whatevs...

It is probably too late... but as a current Rust owner would you be trying to move him asap? Possibly include him in some sort of package deal?!

Many in my league will have no clue Rust is off PP1 when Sid returns. Who would be a good target in trade?
I'm looking at Nylander or Makar from a guy who likes to send me all kinds of crazy trade offers. Any reasonable targets I should be looking at?

That makes more sense. Rust will get his looks at the top PP. All is not lost yet for Rust owners, as well he will likely still produce pretty good at even strength with either Crosby or Malkin.
I would not give up Rust too cheap just yet. He is pretty much the best winger in Pittsburgh for the rest of the season (or until he gets injured.
That said, he has always been a sell high and if you get a decent offer I would run with it.
