Burn 1st waiver priority on W.Nylander?

League/team in sig. W.Nylander dropped, I'd like to add him, even more so with M.Tkachuk and A.Johnsson on IR. He won't make it to FA. Is it worth to use 1st waiver priority to claim him?

I have very similar league settings. I would use it personally. Guys of that quality don't often get dropped - assuming there isn't a wildcard manager who drops elite players every few months when they go cold.

Definitely makes sense with 6 D. I would have claimed Morrissey too probably. I mean there's a chance a better player gets dropped but it's like a timeout in hockey, use it or lose it. I'm sure you can get back up to a decent priority again over time.

He probably won't..I just dont think he is worth first priority...i would see who they drop for him.

Does priority reset annually or not? If it resets, I'd use it for sure.

If not, I'd think about the other guys who've been dropped in the last year or two, and figure out if any of them seem better by a decent amount. With a lot of Leafs fans, it's likely a claim for now, and deal later on will work great.

There is a lot of movement in this league, but mostly picking FA's. Last year, waiver bids were used on the likes of Dadonov, Tuch, Elliott. Year before it was Atkinson, Rantanen, Hoffman... I remember getting Kucherov from waivers, after his slow start to the season and right before he became the big star.

I don't understand how he was dropped.... He's young, having a good bounce-back season, and it doesn't seem like you're worried about contracts. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to snag him.
