    I agree with the article on the main page. They're playing well of late so no reason to make wholesale changes. So for the most part things will chug along as they were. Stat corrections would happen independently of any coaching changes.

    It's also the assistant coach taking over right? So he knows the system that is getting them W's, so a whole lot won't change. Maybe a bit of tweaking on whatever special team (PK or PP) he ran, that the new assistant will now run.

    Well way to set the hockey world into a guessing frenzy. Aren't they better off just saying what it is?

    Possibly not, for a few reasons.

    1. What he did may be completely legal, yet unprofessional. For example: he may have been seen at a strip club, committed adultery, sold off free stuff/tickets he got, cursed out his boss, watched porn on his computer, or something like that. I know of people fired for all of those things, some more people than others - note that porn is #1 on that list.

    Some of those are work things, some are moral things, that are decidedly not illegal. While he may have stolen stuff from the team, which is illegal, I find this highly unlikely, he's not working in retail, and I think he gets a wide berth on using pens, for example.

    2. Whatever agreement they came to, may require non-disclosure of the reason for firing. Either or both parties may have wanted it to save face, and have plausible deniability.

    3. Given how this CEO has acted in the past, and how CEO's often act in general, it wouldn't surprise me if this was a trumped-up reason for a firing, as others have said.

    That's not really the way of the corporate world, especially when lawyers are involved.

    To be honest they are better off doing it the way they always did. Firing them, no reasons given other than on-ice performance and leave it at that. That’s the quietest way and the easiest way to do it, but they’ve decided they don’t want to pay out contracts anymore and so it gets complicated like this.

    From what I hear about the Montgomery firing, he merely did something that, in a broader sense, many of us have done. It was not illegal, just a lapse in judgment. I’m not free to be more specific right now but you’ll see what I mean when it comes out.

    Sorry if this is a jumble to read. @FatsSundin made the statements and then Al Strachan confirmed "but if you’re suggesting that I have done it, yes I have"

    @FatsSundin
    -So it's not illegal, but this makes it seem close
    -Al Strachan thinks many people have done it, so he definitely has and was probably called on it.
    -Thinks it was "lapse of judgement" so he's definitely done it more than once and finally got caught.

    Your pronouns are a bit ambiguous but if you’re suggesting that I have done it, yes I have.

    Like everyone else, I also know what happened but I'm not at liberty to tell you.

    It wasn't the radio interview I posted earlier.

    I'm still curious on sports gambling. If it was dick pics, wouldn't the other party be pretty open on this?
