    Default Hughes dilemma

    Hey guys.

    Team not in sig.

    Skater stats = G, A, SOG, PPP, Hit, Blk
    Keep 7 players (including 1 goalie)

    So here's the dilemma.....

    I drafted Jack Hughes 1st rd hoping for big things. Knowing I'd have to wait until he gets to his peak but it's been ridiculous.

    The dilemma is, do I hold him for this season and keep him or do I drop him and be happy to keep any of the following

    Goalie = Andersen

    Skaters = 6 of ...

    Panarin, Kucherov, Marner, Seguin, Guentzel, Boeser, E Kane, Dahlin, Connor .......

    Will he be worth the roster spot for the future?
    Team 1:

    G, A, SOG, PPP, SOG, Hit, Blk, W, SV%, GAA, SO

    C - Matthews, Crosby, Point, Seguin
    LW - Miller, Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Kaprizov, Schenn
    RW - Terry, Necas, Reinhart, Boeser
    D - Hedman, Pionk, Hanifin, McNabb
    G - Hellebyuck, Ullmark
    IR - Wilson, Petry

    Team 2:

    G, A, PP, SOG, Hit, Blk, W, GAA, SV%,

    C - Kopitar, Hischier, Rantane
    LW - Panarin, Guentzel, RNH
    RW - Marner, Kucherov, R. Smith
    D - Makar, Hamilton, Heisknen, Dillon
    G - Vasilevskiy, Hellebyuck, Ullmark
    IR - Wilson, Aho, Theodore

    ThatÂ’s tough for a keep 6. Before the season, it was known that he wouldnÂ’t be the most NHL-ready first-overall pick. HeÂ’s only 170 lbs and made the jump from the usntdp, which is not known for creating NHL-ready prospects.

    His ceiling his sky high though. He’s definitely flashing immense talent in the games I’ve seen. He wonÂ’t reach his ceiling this season or next, but if he puts some weight on and gets a decent wingman, he could be putting up 100 pts in 2021-22.

    Barring thin rosters/bench for your league, IÂ’d keep him until the end of the season. Just donÂ’t expect much because NJ is still a dumpster fire, even with an new interim coach. Not a lot of forward talent to surround Hughes with. Especially so when Hall gets dealt.

    We do have a few spots I could stash him, just dont know who I'd move to take him out of IR (but that's not a discussion for this post).

    I too have been impressed with what I've seen of him in the games I've watched. I almost feel like hes been real unlucky too.

    I'd trade him for a pick upgrade and a player that helps you more this year. You have more than 6 skater keepers, probably. How many of what positions do you start?

    If D aren't broken out, Dahlin can go instead,

    We start, 2 LW, 2 RW, 2 C, 4D, 1 UTIL, 2 G with 4 bench spots.

    Itll be tough to trade Hughes I think. This league seems to be skeptical of 1st year players.........which I'm feeling.
