Question Anyone still holding out hope for Gustafsson? (REP)

I'm still hanging on to the guy (first roster in sig). He shows occasional flashes that keep my hope alive, but generally speaking he's been an absolute boat anchor. There isn't much on the FA wire in my league, but the following guys are out there:

    - Spurgeon (could stash him in my IR and see what happens, low risk)
    - Gostisbehere (same problem as Gustafsson all over again)
    - Montour (decent short term option with injuries in Buffalo)
    - Chychrun (I might like this option the most as OEL has never really stepped up, but it's all a bit of a dog's breakfast)
    - Pionk (I've rolled him in and out before landing on DeAngelo)
    - Skjei (I already have DeAngelo... and Fox is in and out, Trouba there, not sure I want another blueshirt)

... thoughts? Given the above, I feel like I just need to be patient?

I have to agree, given the available options, I'd just keep rolling with Gus and hope for a turn around. As you say, he has shown flashes.

I would hold too. Gustafsson has definitely shown some signs of life lately, he just needs a little puck luck and some confidence. He has been jumping up into the offence and he has looked pretty good on the top PP. Good chance things start falling into place for him again soon if the rest of the Chicago offence can start scoring.

I’d have to agree with the above but Gost is an interesting option. He’s been moved around a little but was still on the top PP.

I was kinda surprised when Gustafson fell from the sky with that season last year - regression was almost certain. It’s a tough call on those 2 imo

I'm holding too... he's the best D option Hawks have for PP. I'm thinking a little confidence will go a long way. I'm doing the same with Dumba... these two better turn it around!

As lucky as he was last year with being a beneficiary of the Hawks high-powered offense, he is getting unlucky this season and not getting those easy points which greatly overrated his value. Like Wonko said, his game is reminiscent to what it was last year so an uptick in points should be expected. Of those guys you mentioned, Spurgeon seems most-comparable in terms of production but with Keith’s injury being labeled week to week, Gustafsson should continue to get the majority of the Hawks prime offensive deployments.

I'm holding on to Gus as well. That said, he isn't coming anywhere close to my starting line up.

I wasn't big on him doing anything close to what he put up last year. I figured he might put up high 40's in points.

I would be inclined to Gostisbehere a run.
He is on the better team and in last 5 games has; 3 goals & 1 assist.
