Are you implying it's not trustworthy because a source wants to be anonymous? Do you have any idea how serious it would be for a journalist to manufacture a fake source to corroborate a story? Seravalli's career would be finished the moment it came out. And you think he's going to put his whole career on the line to cover a dude that played 79 games? Just stop already.

The definition would actually be Peters, because he's white, thinking that he's superior to Aliu because he's black. i.e. Because of his race, Aliu is inferior to him.
And, despite losing his temper and using words nobody should use, I don't believe that Peters truly thinks that way. I don't believe that's what is truly in his heart.

Using a racist slur is racist by definition.

Maybe, just maybe this n-word slipped his mouth and he's not that type of man. You can believe whatever you want, the reality is that you're not in his heart. You can say I'm not either.
But here's the reality for you : he aggressively used that n-word, not once, but multiple times. In a context where it was nowhere to be warranted. In a context where Aliu wasn't even addressing his head coach. These are facts, corroborated by multiple sources, and coming from a credible journalist.

If Bill Peters thinks using that word in this context is appropriate and decides to refer to another human being in a derogatory way based on his race, he is racist. Maybe he has changed, who knows. But don't play this down please.

To the dismay of this Oilers fan, a change is probably exactly what this struggling Flames team needs. I'd bet a good amount of money he gets officially fired for this really quickly (admittedly don't know all the facts but it doesn't read well for Mr. Peters. At this stage it's debatable on whether the facts even matter).
