Babcock to Devils or Sabres?

I can't see Devils. Lots of youth there. I think that was part of the issue in Toronto?

I don't think he gets a gig for the balance of this season. Most likely after the off season ends and some teams can some coaches, he will resurface.

The Sabres just hired a new coach this offseason, who has them in the playoff hunt, and the team seems very much improved. I can't see that.

The Devils are terrible, and that coach has been there for years, and they haven't impressed, but this is the first year with real expectations. I can see the job opening up, but I wouldn't hire Babcock right away, I think they'd go the interim route, and his ego seems to be way too inflated to take an interim gig.

I don't see him jumping back into it anytime soon, next summer at the earliest and I could even see him taking extra time off as well like Vigneault and Tippett. Oddly enough, once he does sign up for a new gig it'll be with a team thats looked like a contender for a few seasons but believes they need a shake up to get over the hump like the Sharks or Flames.

Maybe he'd be interested in broadcasting or some role with Hockey Canada in the meantime.

And like stevegamer pointed out, Buffalo will be running with Krueger for a while. He left a high profile gig to take that job and cutting him due to this recent skid would be beyond dysfunctional even considering the state that franchise has been in over the past decade, gotta let them work it out.

Definitely not Buffalo. They will give Krueger plenty of rope and yes no where near the end of it.

I don't see him coaching for less money than he's owed for the next three and a half years, and I don't think someone's paying him more anytime soon so I figure he's going to sit back and enjoy some needed time off and wait for the right opportunity.
