I have both Samsonov and Shesterkin waiting in the wings.

Jack Hughes

Ilya Samsonov
Morgan Frost
Shea Weber

First thought is that I'd love to own Hughes.. but I feel like I'm hurting myself at goalie, plus Weber being a solid multicat contributor.

Am I overthinking this?!

How many goalies start? If it's more than 1, then you are extremely shallow. And I suspect goalies are overvalued like everywhere.

Not really sure how the cap and deep rosters factor into this, or how valuable goalies are in your format... it kinda looks like you can’t get much help at any position from the waiver wire because of how many players are rostered...

Just curious, what two players would you be adding from free agency if you made this trade?

I like Hughes a lot, but this is too much for me to give up for him. Im not sure I'd even do Samsonov and Frost for him, let alone include a reinvigorated Shea Weber. Young stud goalies are hard enough to find compared to young stud centers and to be honest, Frost is highly regarded himself. He's no Jack Hughes, but still a very promising player for the Flyers.

In a deeper league (14x25/35), that's too much to pay for Hughes.

All of Frost, Weber, Samsonov are top half value players, either now (Weber) or future (Frost/Samsonov).
You have to pass on this one.

To reply to all.. Goalies are extremely valuable in the sense that they are virtually unavailable. Any goalie you can think of is owned in this league.. I mean I own Alex Lyon and Gilles Senn in my minors along with Samsonov and Shesterkin. Kinkaid just got claimed on waivers :/

So I don't feel like I'm deep enough at G or D to give up Samsonov and Weber. And i like Frost quite a bit as well.. not at a PPG pace of course hah.

I wouldn't do this. I'm in a similarly deep (22 main/53 minors/12 teams) league, but your goalies look okay to me.

Lyon looked good tonight for Lehigh Valley, by the way. The defense there was atrocious tonight.
