To review, the Leafs young stars all bullied their child GM during negotiations, then got their coach fired. And the solution to all of this is to install a coach who has never coached an NHL game? Is that correct?

he actually is wrong. The players were not involved in the negotiations at all. Marner & Matthews & Nylander are on record multiple times stating they are letting their agents handle all the negotiations and they contact them when there's something to discuss. Perhaps the Agents could be accused of bullying Dubas (which I doubt) but not the players - cuz they weren't involved.

I suspect he meant via the agents. Of course players don't negotiate themselves unless they represent themselves.

My impression was Babcock was well-liked for the first few years. guess he probably hit the end of the line between his 3rd consecutive 1st round loss in the playoffs and this year's bad start.

As far as Dubas goes, do people not like him? I can see he has 3 of the top-10 cap hit players, but all 3 are also extremely good players, and 2 of them still very young. They also have assembled a decent supporting cast and a defense that should absolutely not be as bad as it is right now.

It pains me to say all this as a guy that grew up in Ottawa but I think Dubas is doing a reasonably good job righting the ship even despite this season.

Lamoriello righted the ship long before Dubas took over. If anything, the ship veered off course under Dubie's guidance after Lou left.
