    Default Laine or Gaudreau

Got offered the following deal not sure if it’s worth taking on another underachiever right now

    Giving: Laine (RW/LW) - 4.0
    Getting: Gaudreau (LW) - 2.8

this is for my 2nd team in my SIG, it’s an all stats dynasty league where G slightly out value assists 3 points for a G, 2 for an A.

Is that number fantasy points per game in your league, contract cost or something else?

Yeah my bad that’s their fantasy points per game this season.

last year Laine was 3.3, and Gaudreau was 4.5

Tough, I have been very frustrated as a past Gaudreau owner, but I think I still pick him since his ceiling is higher

Gaudreau was a BEAST last year and Laine was a BUM and their stats weren't all that far off. Because I think a typical Gaudreau season will be a bit lower than what he did last year and a typical Laine season will be a fair bit better than his previous, I'd lean Laine here.

To me Gaudreau is probably a pretty consistent 25G 60A guy, so 195 points.

Laine is more of an inconsistent 50G 20A guy, so 190 points.

Even with the goals boost, Laine only comes close to Gaudreau, and I think Gaudreau will be a more consistent own with a higher ceiling. Gaudreau is still only 26, so I wouldn't worry too much about the 5 year age gap yet. I'm keeping Gaudreau.

It's a coin flip for me. I think I keep Laine for the dual positions.

It's not just goals and assists, op only provided those values but stated 'it's an all stats'. I'm not sure what that means but based only on goals and assists Laine is averaging 2.15 fantasy points per game to Gaudreau's 1.70.

Without knowing the value for other categories Laine is getting 1.85 fp/g over and above his goals and assists to gaudreau's 1.1 fp/g. I'm guessing that shots/blocks/hits/plus minus must account for most of the difference.

Given the goal weighting with the information we know about the league, I lean Laine but it's still close.
