Bo is struggling as well, to score that is. Incredible on the dot though.

Those injuries really took their toll on Schneider. Too bad, he got off to a late start as a starter, being blocked by Luongo in Vancouver. Hope he can find a team that will give him a chance.

He looked so good at the end of last season. Posted a .921sv% over 17 games after coming back in February. I had drafted him in the late rounds thinking New Jersey was going to surprise this year

looks like the surprise is all mine.

    FULLY sharing your surprise Hoopo.

I saw the same thing, and his struggles early this year seemed more reflective of the NJ team struggles as a whole than his alone. Last year's end, WHC & pre-season, plus Lu's comments around timeline for "fully" healing from that surgery... and I was buying. Literally - I even targeted him in a trade early in the year.

Still struggle to think he's done - shades of Fleury, Rinne and even Luongo being prematurely written off - but admittedly maybe that's my ego not being ready to admit I missed the mark on this.

Soooo, not even famed goalie killer bondon thinks Schneider is redeemable. Point, set, match.

Now that you mention it, maybe as a backup someone tried to catch lightning in a bottle and re-ignite the flame that is Schneider's career. It just seems like he and the NHL are like oil and water these days. He's like a minnow swimming with sharks. OK I'll stop now.

He has a long way to go to be a ROY candidate.

Blackwood could be the third candidate but unless he improves that .904 sv% he isn't beating Makar. Or Q Hughes for that matter. Those two are primed for big seasons.

He's in the mix to be a finalist if he plays a whole year as a starter and plays a bit better than he is right now, and Jersey improves.

Sadly, I have an offer out in a league where Domingue was my stealth target, and I bet it's rejected/countered now. I figured that deal meant Schneider's days were numbered.

I think he may choose to report to Binghamton, which isn't that far away, and see if he can get things right, or give it one last try before calling it a career.

what type of surgery , if any ...has Schneider had on his hips ? Some goalies are never the same after that surgery (DiPietro) while others rebounded nicely after extensive rehab (Rinne)

it was more than just his hips with Dipietro , I know and probably more than just Schneiders hips (groin problems too)
